During this week, please read the article and the examples or experiences in the classroom. Find possible applications of the examples for your grade or any grade in Del Mar Pines and blog about it.

I agree that technology is most relevant in the classroom when it is used as a tool to accomplish a task or a communication channel for enhancing discussion and curriculum. In order to make technology more authentic in 6th grade's study of Ancient Civilizations, students could go on virtual tours of museums around the world, famous ruins, or even "visit" great monuments, structures, and statues to gain a better understanding and appreciation of these past cultures. Afterwards, they could blog about their findings, reactions, and thoughts on Edmodo, or create a Power Point presentation to showcase their new knowledge.
ReplyDeleteHi, this is really Beth, but my Gmail account won't allow me to post my own comment....so i am logging on as Casey....I would like to use meterology to track natural catastrophes in science. Using this information, students can then create a power point sharing similar attributes of places that are more prone to these disasters.
ReplyDeleteIn the past the fifth graders have completed a project on the thirteen colonies. This project involved researching a colony and presenting a poster, song and short oral report. Last year they completed a Power Point presentation with their oral report. This year I hope to have the class create a colony. To do this they will create a proposal using Word. They will create a song or advertisement for their colony but use iMovie. I have been looking into online drawing programs so that they can create a model of their colony.
